I really like the site www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner). You can often find good deals at awesome vacation homes! Just go to the site, then select Colorado, then the area that you are interested in staying in. You'll be amazed at all of the available places in many different price ranges.

You didn't mention a price range, but cheap and Aspen/Snowmass are not synonymous terms. You're best bet might be to stay in Glenwood and drive back and forth but Glenwood isn't giving rooms away either. Try tripadvisor.com, it's what I use when traveling.

Dude, stay out of the touristy towns....you can't afford Aspen or Glenwood from the sounds of it....try Parachute, it's a little farther out but not a tourist trap.....If you want good skiing for cheap, stay in Grand Junction and go to Powderhorn!!

Aspen=$$$$$$$

I'd stay in a near by place like Avon, Frisco, or Silverthorne. check the internet for deals. These places are all still very expensive.
