Why cant they think of a smarter and cleaner design like the concorde.

They have to design the plane around the technology. Look at the F 117. It was angular and looked ugly but to get the stealthiness they had to build it that way. After years of upgrading the technology they came out with the B2 and the F22 which had barely visible radar signatures but looked sweet. In a few years the scientists will be able to improve the technology and make sleeker designs.
