If you care about the poor, peace, the deficit and our kids paying for it, trhe immense suffering at home and around the world, the environment, outsourcing of jobs, and worker rights more than corporations, vote democrat.
If you are fed up with over $3000 of your taxes a year going to corporate welfare, tired of media conglomerates controlling the news you hear and suppressing dissent and diversity of opinions, if you favor the pollution of big agribusinesses that practice animal cruelty and sell you contaminated foods for a profit, if it bothers you that 45 million Americans have no health insurance, then stop voting republican.
Does it bother you that education is cut while the military and past and present wars take up 45% of our entire budgets while the rich get richer and the poor (who send their kids to war) and the middle class are diminished and programs are cut to vets, housing, food, and child support enforcement, and education to the tune of 50 billion in December(reverse Robin Hood bill) and three weeks later the republicans congress gives 70 billion to the rich (who sacrifice few of their kids to war) and who grow richer and sacrifice nothing in wartime, then vote republican as these are their values.
If you are voting values consider that the values are with the dems and that control of all three branches of government are controlled by reps who have done nothing about abortion but talk about it while dems social programs prevent 20% of abortions (which are done for economic reasons like no jobs, no medical, working 2 or 3 jobs etc)..so republican talking saves no unborn lives and dems save 20% or 880 babies lives a day..
Note that men tend to mess up the world and be less compassionate than women in general, so why listen to a man who often don't have the human prespect=tive of women who are life givers. Men so they often tend to vote rep...while women having the better hearts and sense often vote democratic..
Also the neocons in power don't want moderate republicans and middle of the roaders like you (except at election time, and are actively targeting republicans for not being copnservative enough (that is ultra conservative..middle of the roaders do better under the big tent of the dems...that's why so many independents and middle of the roaders eventually vote dem.
There are many more reasons but my deep thoughts about the topic has led me to the conclusion that as a Christian I do not feel morally I can support a party doing what the reps do and that my time is best spent in trying to improve the democratic party and if it is beyond help eventually working to make it possible to elect a third party but the reps do little I can support as a women, a teacher, a parent and a born again Christian. I urge you to vote democrat. No party will agree 100% with your views but Iif what I have said makes sense, then vote democratic today.

This election is a referendum on George Bush and the Rubberstamp Republican Congress (a congress that has spent more time on hearings about Bill Clinton's Christmas List than the Billions being corrupted out of the public coffer by Halliburton and other private contractors in Iraq).
The American Conservative has endorsed Voting Democrats.
The Military Times has said Rumsfeld must go while George Bush claims he is doing a fantastic job.
Clinton said it best: The republican strategy has been to scare you by telling you democrats will tax you to the poor house and that on the way to the poor house you will see a terrorist on every corner and while you are running away from the terrorist you'll trip over an illegal immigrant.
If you want to stay this crazy course vote Republican, if you want to vote FOR our troops vote Democrat.
Oh yeah, don't forget that it took six days to get food and water to New Orleans (I could have driven food and water to the Gretna bridge 6-7 times from my house in a neighboring state, it took Bush and the Republicans six days). Never Forget.

I will not tell you who to vote for. Here is the advice I have you. Today is election day, do some research on the candidates and parties. If you go to your local county website they will have what is called a sample ballot. It has the names of all candidates you are eligible to vote for. Most candidates have websites where they explain their platform goals. You can also visit the Republican and Democrat websites for an overview of the party platforms. After researching then you should vote for the people you feel best represent your views of how things should be.

I too am a steadfast moderate. Though just as the Democrats have tried to turn this election into a referendum against President bush, My vote will be a Referendum against the far left wing that has hijacked the once great Democratic party.
The war is really against Iran the battlefield just happens to be in Iraq. Someday I will vote Left but it isn't there time yet. It is time for someone to lead us not just wet their finger and stick it in the air and await to see which way the polls are blowing.....The stakes are just too high for me.

You shouldn't vote based on whether they are republican or democrat. First find out what each candidate stands for and vote for what you believe in regardless of what political party they are.

Well you have to realize that the Republican party today does not in any way stand for what republicans are thought to stand for. Republicans USED to stand for small government and law restrictions but now they stand for dictatorship
Democrats are not saints but after a long time of Republicans going crazy making it legal to kidnap, torture, imprison and kill without charges or trial anyone who doesn't agree 100% with the President I think it is time the GOP gets a time out to calm down and remember that they are not supposed to be the nazi party

It kind of depends where you live. Most candidates are in safe districts and they will be elected without any real competition. If you live in a district where your vote really counts, ask yourself what your values are and rank them in the order of importance. Then compare them to each candidate's values and vote for the one that matches yours.

VOTE FOR THE BEST PERSON, THIS IS A LOCAL ELECTION!
However, voting wrong could put Pelosie Two heartbeats away from being President! Can you imagine the whole Country being as twisted as San Fransisco?
