Obsession is when you're looking to please yourself, love is when your looking for your partners best interest. :)

Obession is:
Contacting the person all the time, even when they don't want you too.
Finding any excuse to see them
Despite the fact that circumstances are against you, you push and push to make it happen...you won't let it go.
Angry because the person does not come up to your expectations

Love is:

Giving someone space, when they need it or request it

seeing the person under normal circumstances

Recognising that there may be limitations to you getting together with this individual, they may already be in a relationship or may not like you in the way you like them, or other factors such a cultural or religious beliefs

excepting someone for who they are

I have liked a bloke for over 6 years now, i haven't told him because I recognise that he may be with someone else (although I still don't know) and that he is a very devout Catholic, and cause I'm a non-catholic I would not be acceptable to his family.

I at least think about him once a day, worry if he is OK, but only see him or contact him every couple of weeks or so. You can still care and love someone even if you are not with them. He asks for help with his work, so I do without expecting anything back. I also treat him normally tell him what I really think...we don't agree on a lot of things, but a freind told me he appreciates it.

Obsession is where you need a person all the time. I.e. if she wanted to go out youd want to go with her. If she did something youd never tell her its wrong.

Love is when you can see that she needs some time alone and let her go. When she does something wrong and you tell her cuz you know its not good for her.

An example would be - someone whos obsessed with someone might start smoking because she did

Someone whos in love with someone would let her know its really dangerous for her health and get her to stop

Obsession to someone likes when terribly can't controll yourself falling in love with a person who less normally loves you. You are obsessed of someone even he/she never think and cares for you. It is a selfish and abnormal feeling.
Love is love that you are ready to die for it. It has a full of magic that nobody can stops it. It is also full of sacrifices in between the two.

Obsession is a selfish emotion. Love is selfless! If you love someone you love them for all their characteristics and flaws. You respect them, treasure them and want the best for them. If you're obsessed with someone, you'll pull out all the stops to be with them, even if it means hurting them. It's not usually love, it's seeing the person as a possession and this can be very very dangerous to everyone involved.
