no its safe to take antibiotics during pregnany but did you know if your on the pill and take antibiotics it makes the pill not work?

No, doctors do not give pregnancy tests before prescribing antibiotics, but they should ask you if you think you are or if you are trying to get pregnant.

there are antibiotics that are safe for pregancy
but if you are in doubt as to whether you are pregnant or not, discuss this with your dr and he/she will carry out a test before prescribing any antibiotics

Its not a responsibility of the doctor but if you think you may be pregnant tell him and then you can get the test done while there and then if its positive then you can get the prescription medications allowed for pregnant women.

If you are pregnant or think you might be you need to let them know that ahead of time so he doesnt prescribe you something harmful to the baby. Im pregnant right now and they gave me AMOXCILLIAN and said its ok to take in pregnancy. Make sure you let them know.
