"Innovation" implies "change, novelty, new feature", etc. However, it may be a change for the better or for the worse. In my opinion, "atomic energy" is an example of the first type and "nuclear bombs", of the second.

I think that innovation today is deteriorating, sadly.

ermm...I think innovation is doing something to a product so its more efficient or whatever. like.......lets say the oven was an invention, the microwave is an innovation.
