Slammin Sammy would be a good plus to a team if the price is right I'm sure hes probably off the Roids by now.

102 games, BA .221, 14 HR, OBP% .295
You would have him on your team? this is what Sosa is now..
First of all, if he played a full season, it is not a lock he would get his 12 home runs or whatever.
I don't care if he does have the power, he cannot connect with the ball.
He is a below average old outfielder, nothing more.
Bring in a young guy to do the job, they are younger, and well, better.

No way. I wouldn't consider him, because he took steroids. Sure we have proof that he doesn't take steroids anymore, but still that makes him a false person. Also, that means that all his HR records and season HR records are all false just like Mark McGuiwre and Barry Bonds. You've got to admit Sammy Sosa and Mark were awesome until you find out they took steroids. Also, my team is the Yankees, so I don't want someone on my team that used steroids (other than Jason Giambi) because it'll probably be like Barry Bonds, who I hate right now since he using steroids beat Babe Ruth's career HR record.
So, anyway, he is "eyeing a comeback." What the heck does that mean? It doesn't mean it is true or anything, he could just be EYEING it. Or, he could just say that to get onto a good team. I don't believe him. I'm actually sick of him. BS.
In conclusion, my answer is NO.

if he would come in without an attitude and take a small paycheck and prove himself, maybe.......... Probably not in reality even under those circumstances because I'm a Mariners fan and there is no way that Safeco Field would be friendly to Sosa's style of hitting. Personally I don't care too much about the steroid thing. Sosa didn't invent steroids, and he wasn't the first guy to do them, it was part of the game and no one seemed to mind when the home runs were leaving the park and to anyone who says that they didn't know, come on. I remember watching Mark McGwire when I was in middle school and asking my dad why his head looked so little on his monstrous shoulders, people don't like that for no reason.

Sammy isn't going to be the power threat he once was. You are going to probably get 20-25 homers from him at least and you are going to get him at a cheap price. In the Cubs situation who would you rather have Matt Murton in left or Sammy. He probably wont be in right field since he's had the year lay off. I don't think that he's going to be much of a risk for the club house as many people think he would especially if he does come back to the Cubs now that they have Lou Pinella managing. He wont tolerate that kind of nonsense. So I say why not, it will most definately put some butts in the seats if anything else.

Sammy will need to take a huge pay cut for his return. I think he used steroids without question, but the year he was busted for corking, he was also hit twice in the head with some good fastballs. This to me is where his troubles began. He has always been a strikeout man, but after the knocks to the head, it seemed as if he was missing the ball by another two feet. I believe he is gun-shy at the plate, whether he realizes it or not. Add that to his age and steroid use, he may as well call it quits. I'm a fan of his, but realistic. The homerun record is going to be beat by Bonds (if he doesn't retire). Ultimately, barring injury, it will be beat by A Rod at the pace he his going in the next 5 or 6 years. And don't count out Albert Pujols, he may have the long, consistent career such as Aaron did.

Its a selfish comeback at best. What team knowing that would like to have him past the 14 HR's he needs to get to 600? I also think it's going to be hard to put the steroid issue behind him.
With all of that said, there will be a team that will take a chance.

Not particularly. At this point in Sosa's career (if you can even call it that), he's not likely to be worth anything like the high price tag he will demand, and having him on the team will mean a huge distraction around the clock. I'd just as soon they use a cheaper, if lesser talented, player who won't be such a distraction.

i imagine he will be fortunate if he even receives a 500,000 greenback minor league deal. except someone is actual going to furnish him an certainly settlement. If that takes position that is in all likelihood coming from the devil Rays or the Royals.
