Is this new film any good? Is it confusing that it seems to relate to an "early" Bond and yet still has Judi Dench as M? Is the lack of gadgets a good thing or does it make it less fun?

Im sure that Craig will be as good all the others, each actor brings something new to the character so comparison on "which one is best" is just stupid. Connery is seen as the basis of comparison which is fair enough as he is the original, giving the character the tough guy personae with the charm we all know. However please recall that as Connery continued to play the role the character did seem to become slightly stale, thats why the initial few (Dr No, From Russia with love and goldfinger) are far superior to the latter (Diamonds are forever)

George Lazenby, although his first major actoring role the aussie there's a real energy to the fights that surpasses even Connery at his most dynamic. The story is pretty good though drags towards the end

Roger Moore brought a little more of the gentlemans charm to the character, making bond less tough and not as willing to fight dirty. The inital films where good and moore suited the role, however as be passed into the latter stages of the 70's bond just became camp (moonraker, octopussy.)

Tim Dalton, returned Bond to the personae orginally set out by fleming, making him more gruffer, less charming and less emotional. Living Daylights is a great film with and not to be missed. Many didnt like Lience to Kill, as the character essentially turned rogue, however Dalton portrays him as a man not as a superhero.

Brosnan revamped the franchise with a combination of all the above, making him one of the most popular bonds of all time. Story lines such as Goldeneye, and World is not enough, show Brosnan at his best with find acting fight sequences giving bond the grittiness of Dalton, Charm of Moore, Lazenby's energy and Connery's back to basic 007 wit and personality. Please recall however Die another Day, although did very well at the box office, was hyped beyond belief as it was the 20th film. CGI, and a script that jumps around so much with see through characters such as jynx and frost leave it something lacking. though is does have a good car chase on the ice planes of iceland.

Craig....well hes a pretty good actor, loved him in Layer cake and in Road to perdition. He seemed to be very willing to do alot of his own stunts and has wanted to keep Bond very much to Flemings specs. I say good luck to him and im sure he'll do very well.

Nobody does it like Pierce Brosnan.... I'm sorry.

He's got it ALL going on... yum!

But I have heard from reliable sources that Daniel Craig is the best ever. So we'll have to see. He was great in Layer Cake.

I just have a soft spot for Pierce...

Judi Dench is amazing as M... absolutely perfect.

As far as gadgets go - - I think some of the Bond films have lost the plot trying to design clever gadgets. Yes they should have some, but not so much they forget to make it believable and really really cool.

Favourite by far was Pierce Brosnan, he was the perfect bond. Tall, dark and handsome with attitude. Haven't seen the new film but Daniel Craig just doesn't pull it off i don't think, he just doesn't look like Bond. And the gadgets are so necessary in a Bond film, definitely less fun!

Sean Connery was the best Bond, though i cant wait to see Casino Royale as i loved the book.
I think the lack of gadgets will be a good thing and will help to make Bond more "real"

Sean Connery for the win! It's the accent, and the Celtic charm that wins.

I think Daniel Craig will turn out to be the best Bond though, he's way cool!

My favorite was Sean Connery, but Pierce Brosnan did very well, he was more attractive.
Daniel has a very high ladder to climb to match the previous Bonds except for Timothy Dalton, anybody can beat him......I love the gadgets and stuff.....it makes it so interesting......

I'm in a minority of liking Dalton. Although the films haven't aged well he bought a brooding menace to the character that will be matched by Craig.

Daniel Craig should be excellent. I've already read that one line from the film is :

"Shaken or stirred Mr Bond?"
"Why would I care?"

Cool.as.ice.
