I think that line is decided by the persons involved; with friendship, there's a fellowship that links you. That doesn't include physical attraction etc. But I think that's created by the link you have with the person.
Often, when it's more than that, it's not as easy to be with the other person, until that line has been crossed by the two persons concerned.

When you can concentrate on your work spend enough time with parents and other friends then its purely friendship a bit closer than other friends
When you think only she is important than anything else in the world and you cant do without her in your life its love

friends don't get jealous while love do. friends worry a little while love worries too much. friends pay attention but love pay a lot more attention. friends don't think much about each other but love do. friends don't misses one another that much but love do. friends can come and go easily compare to love that it is so hard to let go. friends don't have a strong feelings to one another but love have.
