You get an "F" for uses resources wisely, but since no one answered you in this time, I did the search for you. The nugent score is apparently used to diagnose bacterial vaginosis. Vaginal smears are stained and looked at under a microscope to see the amount of lactobacillus. Nugent score measures this. One of the signs of bacterial vaginosis is a reduction or absence of lactobacilli. Lactobacilli are the "good" germs that help keep our digestive and reproductive systems healthy. That's why yogurt makes such a big deal about "live and active cultures" in their product. If the normal vaginal flora is out of whack, bad bacteria is present.
