Hi Sandeep,

Great question!!! There is a long history, crossing many cultural boundaries that outlines specific effects from certain gemstones.

This is one instance where science backs up mythology & folklore. All naturally occurring objects have particular physical properties. These properties can be measured by sound and light wave equipment. Essentially, they resonate on their own sound & light frequencies, and have properties (like color or vibratory frequency) that tend to elicit certain reactions.

So, the answer to your question is yes, wearing particular gemstones can have certain effects on the wearer.

Diamond is known to endow strength. And, some people will notice that they are treated differently when they wear diamonds.

Amethyst is believed to aid in sobriety. Wearing large Amethyst carat weight while embibing, is believed to help the wearer keep a clearer head.

I can't corroborate the Amethyst tale, but for me personally, the two stones that cause the most noticeable reaction in me are: my 1.6 carat Kanchanaburi Sapphire and my 37.6 carat golden Citrine. The sapphire is a dreamy, mesmerizing blue color. It looks like there's thick blue honey slowly moving around, trapped inside the stone. And, I tend to get lost when looking into it. I find that I tend to be calmer, a bit more adaptable, and prone to daydreaming when I wear it. Wearing my Citrine makes me feel very cheery, lighter and happier. It's like a captured ray of sunshine trapped within a rock.

The effects are generally very subtle, so in order to detect a difference one must 'tune in' to themselves.

No other stone that I've ever worn or held has an effect on me like that sapphire. It's really pretty strange.

Hope that answers your question.

I almost forgot to mention the one example which many women may relate to: Pearls. In ancient mythology pearls were linked to Venus & Aphrodite, who both represent femininity & love. And I will say that when I wear pearls I feel a little more feminine, more maternal. Perhaps that is from the measurable properties of the pearls, or it may be that pearls have a long history of being equated with: purity, modesty, happiness and love. So, it may be that when someone meets a woman wearing pearls they think of Mom's in general, as Mother's and pearls are kind of synonymous - "Leave it to Beaver's" Mom comes to mind. In my experience, people tend to be a bit more respectful and polite when I wear my pearls.
