Unless your garage is insulated & heated, I highly suggest that you DON'T put your hamster in the garage... unless you're trying to kill it for some reason.
Some garages may not insulated & the temperature inside the garage can radically change whenever the garage door is opened. This can create a uncomfortable environment for humans for short-term exposure (under 5 minutes) & unbearably cold beyond that without some type of heat source.
While your house may be 60 degrees, the temperature inside your garage can drop as low as -20 in extreme weather (like a blizzard or extremely cold temperatures, with wind chills in the -70's... personal experience). Prolong exposure to such low temps can kill a lot of creatures that are not prepared for it.
If you absolutely must keep your hamster in the garage, you'll want to place a heat lamp other the cage to provide some warmth & 2 thermometers (one by the cage & one on a wall away from the cage) to monitor temperatures.
Pretty much, if the temperature around the cage drops below 45 degrees or so, bring him inside!!! If the temperature around the cage breaks 100 degrees, move the heat lamp in an attempt to bring the temperature down to a more comfortable level (60-80 degrees).

you need to flow them interior. counting on how chilly your area is, the hamster will the two die or bypass into an quite deep hybernation. the two i undesirable. in case you do locate your hamster hybernating, (respiratory very slowly, pulsed is slowed, eys closed close, and currled tigt up right into a ball, seems ineffective...signs and indicators of a hybernating hamster), flow the hamster right into a heat room and it relatively is going to awaken in some hours.

Would you stay in your garage in winter?
Had a very sweet friend who lost the parakeet on the front porch
a few winters ago - it was only 32 outside.
I think I would keep them inside, with me!

You can not keep it in the cold garage. It'll freeze just like you would.
It should be kept in an controlled environment where it'll stay warm and dry just like you would want.

only if it has got central heating.
hamsters can usually keep themselves warm by snuggling up in there bedding but will not survive temperatures lower than freezing.
