These two words are synonyms, that is, both mean "partnership". But there are differences in use and context. "Membership" is a general term, related to a club or a society (you may be a member of the "Tennis Club", for example).

"Fellowship" refers to (1) an association or a foundation for providing payment for a fellow´s services, such as university professors or predoctoral or postdoctoral fellows ("Ford Foundation Fellowships"); (2) the position of a fellow at a university (she was granted a fellowship); (3) the stipend of a fellow (Postdoctoral fellowships encourage research).

Memberships are for clubs and fellowships are the good relations and understanding between friends and fellows of the college , atleast thats what i think !
