The principles of Gandhi are no longer applied today because it seems that everybody want to solve disputes through arms and war.

What is Ghandhism..... its wasn't new with Mr.Gandhi nor Mr. Gandhi did start any such kind of things. Its the Ideologies thats long being propogated. Open any Religious scripture let it be Bible, Koran, or the Scriptures of Hindus or the Budhist they say the same thing.
now days every thing is Financially driven. people are more captalistic. But people still exist who follow the simple way of life and feel Humaity is more important than Money. or Humanity is more Important than Oil :)

Yes, India is a relatively peaceful country. Sure there are sometimes fights between ethnic groups. That can be addressed through law, order and justice.
