Hot Water Is A Sure Bet For; *Shrinking & *Fading Clothes.
I prefer "Cheer with Color Guard", which helps protect against fading, color transfer and fabric wear in either the powder or liquid. Cheer cleans in any water temperature, even in cold water. It also helps prevent pilling of cottons and neutralizes chlorine in your wash water to help prevent colors from fading.
Cheer Is Available;
A) Cheer Free & Gentle, Dermatologist-recommended Cheer Free & Gentle is free of dyes and perfumes and is mild to skin.
B) Cheer Complete, Cheer Complete contains a nonbleach cleaning booster for people with tough laundry needs.
C) Cheer High Efficiency Liquid, Specially designed for high-efficiency washing machines.
D) Cheer Dark Formula, Specially designed with 2 times the Colorguard Technology of regular Cheer, Cheer Dark helps prevent the dye on your clothing from bleeding. Cheer Dark helps your blacks stay black & your dark colors stay true.

Never soak fabric in hot water. You don't need cold water as well. Using tap water will do. If your fabric is white, you may add some detergent to help remove the stain. Some use Chlorine to remove stains in white fabric (this is the fastest way but some say it damages the fabric). If you stained a colored fabric, you may want to leave it as is and hope that repeated washing will remove it. It's not advisable to soak them in water especially if it is colour-fast.

I've tried vinegar, baking soda and every product that claims to take odors out of clothes. Two days later the odor is back or they smell like vinegar. Borax is the only thing I found that really works and it helps clean and remove stains, use one cup for stains, in your clothes you can find it in the detergent aisle.
