Three main points.
One - Plants can add life to a room. Decorating with plants is easy and can dramatically change the looks of a room.
Two - Oxygen. Not a big point. There is more than enough oxygen in a room to allow a person to live, but it is a point none the less.
Three - Moisture. The plants release water into the air. Also water will evaporate from the soil they are in and put moisture in the air. This is really important if living in an area with low humidity.
