Hi all,
Can some suggest me some good hotel at darjeeling or nearby place like Mirik from where i can have a panoramic view of Himalayas.
Price range could be 1500-2000 Per day , preferd would be cozy, very decent , with attic rooms . btw is Attic rooms good .

Also how much is that true that , the prices and the packeage deals on internet is costly . Rather one can go there and direclty stay there at lower cost and bargain on the packages
Also would like to know nearby places to visit within 50 kms (not will to roam much ;) )

Darjeeling is a beautiful place for going to honeymoon and you will enjoy the sourrounding and climate very much. I have visited several times but in the recent 7-8 years I have not gone so I am unable to tell exactly about hotel accomodation. There many hotels and trourist loadges are available. It will be with in your budget. You can find the names from internet and book only hotel accomodation for the required number of days. As rightly told the package deals will be costly. Get the booking confirmation and go. It will be very cold and there may not be much of crowd now.

Darjeeling (Nepali: दार्जीलिङ (help·info), Bangla: দার্জিলিং) is a town in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the headquarters of Darjeeling district, in the Shiwalik Hills on the lower range of the Himalaya, at an average elevation of 2,134 m (6,982 ft). The name "Darjeeling" is a combination of the Tibetan words Dorje ("thunderbolt") and ling ("place"), translating to "The land of the thunderbolt." During the British Raj in India, Darjeeling's temperate climate led to its development as a hill station (hill town) for British residents to escape the heat of the plains during the summers. Now read about Darjeeling :-

Darjeeling's temperate climate has five distinct seasons: spring, summer, autumn, winter, and the monsoons. Summers (lasting from May to June) are mild, with maximum temperatures rarely crossing 25 °C (77 °F). The monsoon season from June to September is characterised by intense torrential rains often causing landslides that block Darjeeling's land access to the rest of the country. In winter temperature averages 5–7 °C (41–44 °F). Occasionally the temperatures drop below freezing; snowfalls are rare. During the monsoon and winter seasons, Darjeeling is often shrouded in mist and fog. The annual mean temperature is 12 °C (53 °F); monthly mean temperatures range from 5–17 °C (41–62 °F).[21] The highest temperature ever recorded in the district was 26.7 °C (80.1 °F) on 23 August 1957; the lowest-ever temperature recorded was −5 °C (23 °F) on 11 February 1905. The average annual precipitation is 281.8 cm (110.9 in), with the highest incidence occurring in July (75.3 cm or 29.6 in).

Wish you happy honeymoon and married life

If you're staying at an expensive hotel, the internet is better than just turning up, if you like cheap then go and try to find a place, you'll find a deal I'm sure.
This is a general rule, I haven't been to Darjeeling, but, by all accounts, there must be some beautiful places to stay on the tea plantations, but I would book ahead to be sure of prices and transport to the estate.
I would imagine that it would be a very romantic place, with the mists over the tea and the mountains as a backdrop.
Sort of like Kericho or the slopes of Mt.Kenya, where I used to live in Kenya all those years ago.
