Did Tom Cruise shot a jet down with a rifle in the movie? If so, how is that posible?

He shot down a jet-powered drone, yes. Not that difficult, really. The drone was relatively small, and the weapon likely had very hard bullets loaded. Jets and attack helicopters have been brought down by a single shot - it's lucky, but it can happen.

Probably just as possible as it was for John Rambo to create 32 explosions with a Huey that only holds 16 missles. ("Rambo, First Blood Part 2.")

Probably just the same kind of magic that had John McClaine (Die Hard) entering a ventilation shaft wearing a white tank top, and emerging wearing a green one. I've heard others protecting this whole goof-up by claiming the shirt got dirty... but wasn't that building brand-new, and still under construction? How dirty could the air vents in unused/unfinished floors be?

Maybe it's also the same reason why C3PO's memory was erased at the end of "Revenge of the Sith," but R2D2 never said Jack when Luke was asking about his father. His X-wing had a translater, right? C3PO also could have translated, right? R2D2 used to be Anakin's flight droid, knew the whole story, and his memory was never blanked.

Probably the same reason why Goofy can talk, but Pluto can't. And why Donald Duck never wore any pants.

And how exactly did the shark beat Elen Brody to the Bahammas in "Jaws the Revenge?" She was in a plane! And why'd she go to an island to avoid a fish in the first place? Go to Arizona, man!

And speaking of "Jaws," why'd the Mythbusters on the Discovery Channel devote an entire show to debunking things that happened in the movie "Jaws?" Jaws was a work of fiction, and openly marketed itself as such.

This has been fun, but there's no shortage of what movies ask us to simply sit back and allow for the sake of entertainment. Pass the popcorn, willya?
