"Sgt. Hutchins ordered us to get on line," Jackson testified. "Everyone fired rounds, including myself, but I fired my rounds above him. I knew he was going to be shot, but I didn't want to be the one to do it."

The negligent marine should be tried by a court martial for killing an innocent civilian in Iraq.

It is still uncertain. It would be best to acquire the whole squad and Sgt. Hutchin out to the court on a trial. If this marine claims that he was ordered to do so, maybe the blame goes to Sgt. Hutchin, but based on lack of evidence, maybe this marine could be sketching his own story just to clear himself from this mess.

Yes, it’s tragic that a Marine could have possibly done this. But, because he has yet to be proven by a court to be guilty, I will not be one of the people to already give him a guilty verdict. Everybody thought Lt. Pantano was guilty couple years back. Turned out he was innocent. Before you put him on the gallows, wait for a guilty verdict.

Farzand A - sorry to say this but those weren't Marines in Abu Grahaib. We are honorable. Don't let a couple incidence blur your view of us. The media fails to exploit all the good and honorable things we do. Only when we mess up do they plant stuff on the news.

what do I think of this marine the question should be what do i think of the person ordering a innocent person to be killed. Just shows that this administration either knows what's going on and is OK with that or this administration doesn't know what the hell is going on over in Iraq. Actions like this end up getting people killed here in the U.S. through terrorist acts. Didn't we get upset when 9/11 occurred they were all innocent too!

This soldier has a higher authority to answer to regarding taking an innocent life.

I don't know about that, but many of such incidents have happened in Iraq. I though that the US Marine Corps were honourable, but after seeing the Abu Gharaib prison scandals and elsewhere, I started to doubt that honour. I think that the military has been hiring people who are not exactly suited enough for being a marine. It could partly explain such disturbing incidents. It takes a lot of courage and moral being a soldier.

Further example of how the NEOCONS should be held responsible for these acts of War Crimes. This tainted escapade in Iraq is nothing more than an attempt to willfully subjugate the Iraqi people for their wealth.. Oil. This Godless administration sent soldiers to protect the oil fields after the invasion but allowed the Historical monuments of 1000s of years old to be looted and destroyed.

This is just another example of how soldiers are just machines. Governments use these machines to do what they want. If a soldier speaks out, he is disciplined, or fixed, like a machine. Even though all it takes is a hand gun shot to the head in a small cell perhaps somewhere secret in Europe, this marine would probably get in trouble if his commanding officers found out he deliberately missed.
