What's the mistake your parents made that you swore you'd never do to your kids?

my father used to beat me,and sometimes throw me across a room like a rag doll,when i told him to quit hitting my mother.

My mother never paid me a complement in my whole life and all she does is nag. I swore I would never do this. I give praise to my 3 beautiful children and I am their friend not their enemy like my own mother was with me.

My parents were wonderful. The only thing they did that I have done differently is made sex a taboo subject. My older daughter and I can talk about anything. My new baby and I will be the same way if I have anything to do with it.

My family drank alcohol pretty heavily... This is something I have not done... There were several times I feared the worse, I didn't know how they could drive the home safely... Or the fights and arguments... I didn't pass that on to my children...

i think ill try because im not perfect........

1.fighting in the front of my children because they might have a phobia
2.ill try to believe that they can do what they are trying and there abilities
3.encourage them and support them and believe them
4.ill try to never compare them because we have different abilities
