What is the most affordable way to advertise my small business?

Question

I just started a home party business for a new company (in business less than 1 year) what is the best way to advertise? I live in the capital area of Baton Rouge, La, so I should have a GREAT target audience?!!? I researched the college & local newspapers but found them both expensive for a fledgeling business.

2) Use Yahoo! Local & Yahoo! Groups – Be sure to read the TOS for each one!

3) Write articles pertaining to your field and/or expertise.

4) Advertise on Craiglist

Also, consider signing up for an affiliate program. These programs enable you to advertise on other's sites (your affiliates) and once a sale is made to you, your affiliates & the program are paid a commission.

I would also say that make sure your product is great quality stuff and then like the girl said before me word of mouth is great. I would even see if you could advertise of the radio i believe its free i like the idea the girl before me gave to print up your own flyers too and post them around the town.. good luck..

The cheapest form of advertisement is "word of mouth", where someone tells someone else and so on. The next cheapest form would probably be creating flyers at home on your computer, paying to have them copied, and then posting them around town at grocery stores, dormitories and such.
