During the first months, the usual needs of the baby includes a crib, feeding bottles if not breastfed, milk, diapers, baby dresses. As he approaches 4 months, mashed potatoes can be started & other cereals. Later on, stroller is usually needed. Vaccination & follow up with the pediatrician would also add up to the cost. A caregiver if the parents are both working would also be included. Cost depends on the cost of living in your place.
Therefore as the child grows older, the more expensive would be the cost.

The experts estimate that from birth to age 18, it costs between $100,000 and $120,000 to raise a child. So your monthly cost would average between $463 and $556 per month for 216 months (or 18 years).

im not sure about monthly cost but some study that was done said the average family spends around $7,000 a year in the first year. I guess it depens on how much you want to spoil your kids. We had our daughter in pampers untill she could roll then we swithched to no name and saved about $15 each time we buy a box of diapers!

depends on how you do things, like breastfeeding is cheaper, cloth diapering, etc. I think there are a lot of baby gadgets out there that you don't really need, they don't require cool clothes either. Once they start eating table food-that's expensive!

That depends on a few factors like what diaper brand you buy, if you formula feed, how often you need to see the doctor (illness or immunizations) etc.
