I make a sweet potato apple dish that is yummy, you just peel the apples and sweet potatooes slice them into thin pieces and layer them in a casserole dish with butter and cinnamon, then bake them at 325 can't remember the exact time, But cook until somewhat soft.
Mashed sweet potatoes are really good also.

Serve anything you want.
If you like potatoes but you don't want them mashed, then fix them a different way. A yummy version of roasted potatoes is to take a packet of onion soup mix and combine it with butter. Dice potatoes and put them into a baking dish. Add the onion butter to the potatoes and bake until done.

Bake about 4 lg. yams. Peel and mash them. In a baking dish layer yams with butter, brown sugar, and sliced bananas. The last layer should be yams only. Top with small marshmallows. Bake in oven at 325 degrees for 30 mins. or until marshmallows are golden brown. My family has used this recipe through 4 generations now.

Green bean casserole~ the recipe is on the side of the french fried onions container.
And my family loves stove top, gotts ta have it!
And candied yams, you boil the sweet potatoes after you cut them into round about 1/2 inch thick chunks. THEN put them into a dish (line it w/ foil, the baked brown sugar & butter is a b!T(H to clean) line them next to each other, COMPLETELY COVER them with butter & then brown sugar. SOOO luscious! Bake at 325 for about 25-30 minutes.

Sweet Potatoes... Au Gratin Potatoes... you don't really need mashed potatoes, you have plenty of starch... the stuffing. The turkey is what most people look for... so change things around a little. We actually had egg noodles one year with kick butt gravy. Hey, just make some killer stuffing and pour the gravy on that.

cut up potatoes and carrots and pop them in thepan with the turkey about an hour before it should be ready. Roast veggies. They look nice, taste better than mashed, and make the gravy taste better also.

steamed broccoli or asparagus. you prefer something green to stability the protein and the carb/starch. something green which you like, i.e., peas, spinach, brussel sprouts could be good. while i grew to become into little, my grandmother consistently fastened peas with rooster and mashed potatoes, so I nevertheless do this normally too. it particularly is previous type, even though it particularly is sweet. Use frozen peas, nonetheless, no longer canned, upload somewhat kosher salt, a splash of white pepper, and a fabulous style of butter or margarine...
