your question is too brief n general, what 'pain' n where is the 'pain' come from? 'pain' for how long/days? also are you just started your sex life or he is your another/different bf?

[1] It could be your or his 'action' was too rough, [2] he 'enter' you before you are really fully aroused [3] cleanliness, his hand/finger/tongue/penis, you didn't clean-up[shower] after sex [4] sexual position etc etc etc. if the pain persist or repeat after each sex intercourse then you have to visit a doctor to ascertain why its happen ! Don't worry, the doctor should be able to gives you professional advices. Take good care of yourself !

Make sure you are well lubircated and if he is being to rough tell him to take it easy until you figure out whats wrong. There is a number of things it could be, so I suggest you see your OB/GYN

how long was the intercourse and was he exceptionally rough?

if it was the first time, maybe its because of the stretching of the vagina that is causing the pain
