I got that a few years ago, in fact twice! I entered (Who wouldn't) To find that i had to acquire some very expensive books i didn't want! In short, you go through one stage then you need to buy a book for next draw and so forth ... Sorry Honey! But it's going to cost you a lot and you are more than definitely not very likely to win!

Millions of people get these letters and, to date, I have never met anyone who has won anything from that organisation. It is all hype to sell books, and some naive people fall for it, even when they cannot even afford it, in the hope of winning. What is more I am convinced that, after deleting you from the mailing list, the" no" envelopes with your personal tickets go straight into the bin. It is their way of sorting out possible purchasers from the others. Even if they do enter you in the draw your chances are so tiny that it does not even merit the price of the stamp.

Don't bother. its impossible without making the commitment. I went down this route a few years ago and they ended up sending me books which had to be returned in 14 days otherwise they would charge me for them and I didn't even ask for the books. I just kept on returning the envelopes in the hope I would win some cash.
I suppose this is how they make there money. Stick with the Lotto probably have more luck there. Unless you want a load of medical dictionaries and atlases sent out to you.

Actually Reader's Digest was busted 15 years ago for scrapping the "no order" evelopes. They were found in a dump two days before the big drawing. They were investigated for deceptive business practices. It is now illegal to require a purchase to enter a contest here in the U.S.

Hi definitiv, I say "GO FOR IT"! Supposedly, most contests will enter you without purchasing their product IE; magazines, books, CD's etc. I don't have any knowledge of how you would find out if this is "absolutely" true though? XOXO Moonpie P.S. I do know this...you will be put on a lot of companies "mailing lists". Also, make sure you check the "NO" box!

In the finals indeed...you're nowhere near!
Don't think about it, son...fell into that nonsense in the early eighties, fresh from university and living independently - what they do is this; see the address you reside in, then check the postcode...am I in socio-economic ABC1 (posh and rich) land, or in C2DE (poor and chavvy) - if they see it's the former, you might get the odd 'prize' here and there...think dictionaries and the like, if the latter, they will send you promise upon promise of winnings beyond your dreams, and in order to sweeten you, will send you nowt, but 'pretend' cheques of £100,000 (or more) quid, and you will have to send back in order to win...of course, once you humour them with reply, you will end up being pestered with their junk mail.
In the finals indeed...you're nowhere near!

Whether you reply yes or no, either way you'll never get rid of them again for years so do as most sensible people - bin it (OH NO - we mustn't do that any more must we - you'll have to "recycle" it - but before you do that, you'll have to spend half an hour tearing out all the bits with your name and address on it and shredding them)!
Unless you actually WANT the goods offered that is......
