there is a lot of potential in the present indian team but they need to select a good fast bowler...the pitches in west indies r quite bouncy n a good pacer can help a lot......the team also lacks confidence at times but that can be worked upon if the captain and the coach acts upon it.........and ya chappel should s top experimenting now and pay attention to the present team members..
enjoy.......

Since cricket is a game of uncertainties nothing can be predicted for sure about the outcome of a tournament in advance.
As far as world cup 2007 is concerned, it is too early to give any prediction at this stage, due to following reasons:
1) It is not known which will be the players representing each
team.
2) What will the form of the players at the time of World Cup.
It may not be possible at all to maintain the same form by
any player throughout his carreer as there will bad phase
or good phase in his carreer, however great the player
is.
In view of the above, safe prediction one can make about the World Cup at this stage is that all 8 top countries are capable of winning the world cup.

After evaluating Champions Trophy performance, a straight answer is NO.
Yes we can win World Cup 07 if we do our home work correctly and sincerly.
A very tough time for Indian coach Greg Chappel, My suggestions to Mr. Greg as below :
Choose 22 men army for world cup,
4 OPENERS- Virender Shewag,Sachin Tendulakar,Gautam Ghambir,Wasim Jaffer.
7 MIDDLE ORDER BATSMAN- Rahul Dravid,Yuvraj Singh,Mohd Kaif,VVS Laxman,Suresh Raina,Dinesh Mongia,Sourav Ganguly,
7 BOWLERS- Sreesanth, Munaf Patel,Zaheer Khan,Anil Kumble,Ramesh Powar,VRV Singh,L.Balaji.
4 ALLROUNDERS- MS Dhoni, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Ajit Agarkar.
Rotate all players as per match requirments and their ability towards each team.

Are you joking you don't know the present situation. I bowdown for your sprit towards the Indian Cricket team. But, you need to make sure India is the only team without consistency. They are really poor, poor bowling attack, poor batting, If India need to make some Impact, in world cup. They need all the old fox like Kumble, laxman, saurav, to make a comeback. My money this time on westIndies. Because, they are in a brilliant form. Ofcourse, they are playing in the Home soil.

According to my predictions. West Indies are the next world champions. India will be knocked off in the first round or maximum in the second round.
West indies are ahead because firstly they will be playing in their home land so they have a morale booster. plus the team is full of rocking players. all rounders like gayle and bravo will help them a lot. fast bowler taylor will be more effective. also when you have a experienced player like lara the team is more boosted.
england will not rock because of their new players. lacking of experience. others like bangladesh, zimbabwe, namibia, canada, holland, usa, UAE has no chance.
sri lanka might work because of murali who will be effective on the west indian pitches. his dusra will work. jayasurya can be effective with both the ball and the bat if he is in form. wicket-keeper batsman sangakara will also rock.
australia is a step ahead of all. if they are in the finals then west indies are in trouble. they can't beat them in the finals. no team can beat australia in the finals.
pakistan will miss fast bowler shoab akhtar and asif. inzy is also out of touch.
newzealand won't work. maybe a maximum to the semi-finals. they are out of form. but would come back if shane bond, vetorri, flemming rocks.
as for south africa they have the capability to make their way to the semi-finals. just need gibbs, smith, kallis, boucher to perform. pollock and ntini will be very effective. specially pollock with his small movements will trouble the batsman likw macgrath does.
still as an indian i will be supporting india. and india will finish of experimenting. 1 thing must be noted that if sehwag opens with tendulkar dravid has to bat on no. 3 that means he will come to bat after the first wicket falls and you can't afford to send irfan pathan ahead even though he bats well. either sehwag or pathen will open the innings. no. 4 batsman has to yuvraj. not mongia or raina or dhoni. no. 5 u send kaif or you bring back gambhir and make him bat at no. 5. then comes raina and then dhoni, pathan, harbhajan, agarkar etc. you will have to play two regular spiners and 2 pacers. not 3 pacers. or you play with 2 pacer and 1 spinner and give the ball to sehwag, tendulkar, yuvraj, raina etc. there are so many options. you just have to use all your players to its maximum.

No, the Windies field players much better than the Indians. also, Chris Gayle is one hell of a player! Though the Aussies are by far better, the Windies field in a manner similar to Australia!

I heard from an eminent astrologer of India that the finals of WC07 is a repeat of WC03 i,e.its India v/s Australia and Aussies will going to win it.
