im live in Toronto, ontario though. i believe the age where its ok to purchase alcohol is 19.

Move to Alberta or Quebec where the drinking age is still 18!

Depending on where you live... Alberta lets you buy alcohol so I'm assuming you don't live there.
In B.C? All you can do is vote and buy porn... oh, I believe you can donate blood and get a tattoo and most places (as the tattoo parlors in my city say you have to be eighteen or have a parent with you)
