I'm not sure where it is "in God's word" that states homosexuality is a choice. I laugh when people want to stand on the Bible as their grounds for spouting nonsense or uneducated "answers" which we are supposed to then accept as factual. Some of the answers to your question thus far seem to fit into the "nonsense and uneducated" category. I was born gay, and I've had to re-evaluate my own beliefs about God. I had a sister to die suddenly, and I've had to re-visit and re-structure my relationship with God. I lost a job because I'm gay (don't know how they found that out), and I then had to re-examine my trust in God.

People will always use the bible as a means of backing up their beliefs. The fact that we know the bible was never designed to be a book with a flowing narrative. The fact the Bible is is flawed and written, as with most texts, with prejudice of the author. The fact the Bible is a translation from the original scripts and most versions we read are several versions from the source, therefore allowing for even more potential flaws and prejudices along the way. These facts make the Bible a historical set of documents, but far from perfect when looking at a moral guide.
The next point about nature or nurture with sexuality is an issue that gets far too much 'pointless' debate. The fact is my feelings and personal relationship have as much validity as anyone elses. I do nothing that contavenes any logical law e.g. murder, harm to any other person, any acts with minors, etc, Therefore I justifably get angry when others try and force their opinions on me and tell me my relationships and my life is somehow invalid and abhorrent!
The short of it all, it doesn't matter what we 'find out' about human nature we will always have people who stick to their interpretation of the Bible as a means of backing up flawed beliefs and when they can not justify their own beliefs they'll just say 'The Bible is the word of the Lord.' No further debate.

I'd expect those types to say that even so, people needn't act on it. Many, probably most, Priests actually do keep their vows. They would say it's a test of their devotion to God. The sin is in the forbidden desire and act, why you do it has never been the issue.

angiekaos,
The reason why I come to this part of Yahoo!Anwers is to make sure that there are no attacks on GLBT'sby those who would call themselves Christian. I am Christian, and Bi.
Being straight does not make a person saved, and being GBLT does not mean that you cannot be saved.
So no, it would not change anything about my beliefs, it would only tell me that people couldn't help it, which I already believe anyways!

Well even though it's not directed at me I'll answer. My deistic view of the creator is based on no scripture or religion, only my own logic, therefore whether or not someone is born gay or not wouldn't phase me. It would however shake my psychological beliefs that genetics and environment work hand in hand.

gay attitude is quite normal these days but homosexual is beyond the n natural laws.more people are born with this attitude and tendencies but homosexuality develops as they work with another more experienced homosexual and they become a MATURED HOMOSEXUAL GAYS!it is choice of individual cause they want to do it that way .or because they believe in the words of a h9homosexual companion and after several months that guy become gay homosexual too because of the sexual orientation he experienced.

NO!
because i dont think it can be indisputably proven that people are born gay!
i know more of a fact that Pavlov's dog can be programmed. I know that DNA can be soft-wired for homosexuality. But i dont know any DNA or Any mind programming that will exist long enough to control a persons ability to choose what he/she wants!
