I agree with Shi. You should work with a few local artists or even students and tell them what you want, then maybe pay a little for each image they give you. This way you help them while they help you and everyone involved wins. Some high school students would jump at the chance to have their work noticed. Why not give them a chance?

There are tons of copyright free images and clipart books.

Also have you ever thought of using "Starving Artists" some are always willing to get their work out there by any means possible, and you would get original art, prints, logos for your shirts.

Christ is always a good image that sells well, or even if you are daring put an image of allah with a bomb in his turbine....you may be threatened with that though.
