Realtors, like many professions that "face clients", work hard into projecting the "image of success". Many realtors dress well and drive nice cars because they need to appear collected and successful if they're trying to get you to make a $100K+ investment.

I think you should look past it. Fancy clothes and a nice car are easy enough to buy if you want to put your money to it. In fact (as the other responder said) it might be a red flag because clothing and your car are perhaps the worst investment you can make, and yet the realtor is trying to use these things to convince you to make a sound investment.

If you're influenced and impressed that's fine, but you should look more at their responsiveness. Are they willing to show you places that you're interested in? Are they pressuring you? Do they give you pretty honest answers?

The important thing to remember is that a nice car and fancy clothes do not necessarily signal success in the slightest, especially when dealing with professionals that feel like they need to have the clothes and car (even if they might not be able to really afford it).

I personally prefer someone who appears neat and looks honest. For some reason, most people associate 'too much bling' with dishonesty and tend to think they are being cornered. Rather settle for a average nice-looking car and dress to impress not oppress. I love it when a realtor makes me see imperfections of what I am buying (and also proposes solutions ofcourse) this kinda makes me feel the renovation prices of the imperfections have been accounted for in the price hence I am getting a good deal.

A nice car is a clean car---no junk, papers thrown all over the seats, wrappers on the floor, food mashed in the fabric/leather. I've never been biased about a realtor's car, although I haven't had one show up in a school bus yet. Their dress appearance is another issue. Suits, ties, dress skirts, etc. show a flair of professionalism that I like to deal with and remain the first and last impression. Also, shine your shoes.

I would prefer to deal with someone who drives an average car and wears ordinary clothes. I like to deal with people I think I can trust and not someone who is a bit too flash.
