there are some homosexual who are opposed to marriage in general for the same reasons heterosexual choose not to marry, but i don't know any homosexuals that are opposed to equal rights.

Very few are opposed these days. At one time, SOME more radical gay people felt it was just a continuation of what heterosexuals have done, which of course included one partner (the man) being more dominant, and another partner (the woman) being subordinate. They felt that by imitating heterosexuals, it would be validating the concept of marriage, which in their opinion was a harmful, oppressive arrangement. That is what I get from having read a little on the topic. Also, I saw Andrew Sullivan on c-span's book notes, and that is what he seemed to be saying.

Most I've heard have some issue with marriage in general. Either they're entirely against the institution because of its misogynistic roots, or else they believe that marriage should not be a legal affair, but left strictly in the realm of religious: and as such that all people should only have civil unions.

Marriage based on turst, love and sex but homosexuality is only a hunger of sex. This is not a true love. Homosexual partner do not want to straight like a ture wife & husband they want to enjoy only. Marriage has a great concept to save and creat the humenbeing which is not possible in gay marriage, A gay can not give a birth to a loving and beautifull baby. 0 + 0 =0

some guys just do not like the idea of only having one sexual partner for the rest of their life
but most no longer oppose it as they see others wanting and needing to be marry so show their love for ther partners
i feel anyone getting married should realize what they are really getting themselves into they should love and cherish there partners
with every breath and kknow there partners will do the same for them

Usually for religious reasons or fear of the unknown (i.e. what it would be like in a society which had a lot of same sex married couples).
Some homosexuals don't want a monogamous relationship themselves, but it shouldn't stop them from depriving other homosexuals/bisexuals the right to a monogamous relationship.

I think you made that up. That any gay person wouldn't want the same rights as everyone else is just ridiculous.

Marriage is a function of our American culture.
Nobody has a right to force Americans to change their culture to accomodate their desires.

because its not really marriage. Marriage is a religious ceremony between a man and a woman, why can't we call our partnerships something else.

common sense?
since the marriage was created to give a man and a woman the legal environment to have sexual relations and to ensure that the children that may result in the process have a family to raise them... i don't really understand the idea of gay marriage.
more than that, since the marriage is a religious act (at its origins) how can you have it against the religious statement and the purpose it was created for?
is like giving birds the right to go to singing school since the sounds they make resemble songs... useless
