I can't remember the whole story of Romeo and Juliet and my boyfriend said that she was and I don't think so. I think that the reason that they were forbidden to eachother was their families were feudeing families. He said no and that it was cause she was a princess and he was poor.

You are right girlfriend. Juliet is not a princess. Tell him to click on this link for some clarification:

He obviously watched the Leo DiCaprio version of this famous tale.

Juliet, though unfortuantely named Juliet Capulet, was not a princess.

The families had been fueding for years over what else? Land and money. Then of course, a Capulet killed a Montague and so on and so forth.

They are denied to see each other due to the fued. No other reason. Which is what makes it such a tragedy - tell your boyfriend to actually read the story, not just watch the movie.

For example, do you know that the Little Mermaid actually commits suicide in the original story? Big difference.

No, but she was a member of a rich and influential family in Verona. Romeo was also from another rich and influential family in Verona. The two families were feuding.

No she was not a princess. The reason they were not allowed to see each other is because of the family issues. He is SO WRONG!

She's so not a princess.

The rich and poor version is more from the movie.

You're right about the families.
