What are some fun places to go in Galway?

I just moved here, and I was wondering what would be some fun places to go to. I don't like pubs, not much of a lush.

Leisureland (the pool, not the 'theme park').

Pierce Stadium on a match day.

The mart on a thursday ;-)

The Leisuredome, or whatever they're calling it now (next to the Headford Road shopping centre) have a bowling alley, lazor-quest - which is excellent fun, even for girls - and a hang-out area, with those dance machines thingees, pool tables, arcade games and air-hockey.

HeyDoodleDoodle on Eyre St., which, although quite expensive, is nice if you're artistic or creative.

Gorrilla Games in Knocknakarra if you're in your teens and mad!

If you're bored at night, drive into the leisure complex in Oranmore, near the Quality Hotel. There's a nice new cinema and a bowling alley (which I haven't been to yet), but the complex is nice and youth-oriented.

Central Park Night Club (CPs) on upper Abbeygate is far far far far far better than Cuba if you like dancing. No point trying to get in if you're under 18, though. The bouncers are stingy and unrelenting.

There are a couple of go-Karting tracks around the county, including Salthill.

There's also an aquarium in Salthill, if you're into that. I haven't been though, so I can't recommend it.

If you really want to splurge, spend a night or two in Killery. It's in North Connemara, and a good drive from the city. But it has an excellent water-sports and adventure centre. It's a very scenic location, and the good thing about the water-sports is that it doesn't matter about the weather - you're gonna get wet anyway! I'll leave a link.

The greyhound-racing track is an excellent night out, even if you know nothing about dogs. There's a brilliant atmosphere, with a lovely restaurant and betting area.

Galway doesn't really come to life until the summer, with the Ballybrit races and Arts festival (when there's an abundance of fun stuff to do!). When the weather is fine, Salthill comes to life, as do all the beaches. Leisureland gets better rides, and becomes more packed. In anycase, it's still fairly empty... so no queuing!

depends on what you enjoy. tourist office is just up from the train station. Eyre Square is nice, salthill can be fun. The fun is to be had in discovering it all.
