Democrat... ex-Republican.
I was raised Republican and switched to independent in my late 20s then around 34 switched to full democrat.
I believe my party, the democrats, to be the party of the ppl. I've watched more CSPAN debates than imaginable and can truly state, it is the democratic party up in Washington fighting for that poor redneck white man in the South that is voting Republican based on his prejudices... sad that they don't get it.

I've been a registered Republican since the day I turned 21 (that used to be the voting age, probably should be again).
This year I'm voting a straight Democratic ticket as a result of the abominations who have hijacked my party.
What we should really be asking is how, with all the intense background investigation that goes on of anyone allowed to get close to bush, how could they not have been aware of what he was doing? Not matter what loud and indignant rant a bush-league can come up with, the fact remains that bush could Not have been unaware of what haggard was doing.
The same applies to members of congress. Remember that the elder bush was CIA director before he became reagan's puppet master, the current bush administration has the most powerful tool that ever existed for digging up a person's past (or inventing one). Whatever dirt they find becomes political leverage.
So foley and the other gay rights had also to have been known to bush.
What does all this say about republican claims about supporting normal sexual relationships and family values? It is time for the republican party, which I have been a member of for half a century, to go the way of the Dodo Bird.

As far Left as you can get: Socialist. I'll even dip into the Green party or Libertarian Socialist party on some issues.
I'm educated, well read and studied history. I know there's no chance human nature would ever allow for this; it was tried once and mutated into Communism. I can always hold onto the ideal though...
There's more than just being an American, there's being a human being.

I'm a Democrat. I don't hate Republicans, I just don't like their corruption and policies on everything. It just happened to be that the Republicans are the ones in the White House.
