i recently added some new fish to my aquarium and i have two dwarf frogs in there too. it appears that one of my fish might be getting ich, but i have heard that several medicines are too strong for dwarf frogs to handle. does anyone know what kind of meds they could handle that could treat ich, or do i need to just remove them all together and put in a quarantine tank for a bit??

Place the frogs in the quarantine tank, then medicate the aquarium according to the directions on your ich med. Remember that ich is a parasite and not a disease. The parasite goes through three phases of life and is susceptible to the medication in only one phase.

You want to:
- Increase the water temp in your aquarium to 82F or higher,
- treat for a minimum of 14 days per the directions

The temperature increase speeds up the life cycle to 3-5 days from as long as 3 weeks at lower temperatures. It also acts to block completion of the life cycle.

Frogs are very sensitive to their environment. Why not put the fish in quarantine and treat them separately. Frogs & exotic fish?

take the frogs out. Or take the fish out and treat it somewhere else.

Call the pet shop or the Vet. Do not treat on your own.
