I suggest reading 'armed madhouse' by greg palast. In this book he makes the arguement (with footnotes) that the reason we went into Iraq is for the oil. But not to take the oil. No ... we want to keep the oil in Iraq. You see economic supply and demand would dictate that if the second largest oil producing nation was bogged down by an occupation then prices would soar. Hmmmm and how have the oil companies been fairing since the invasion???? Who's side do you think this honest patriot is on?? http://blogs.it/0100206/stories/2004/03/15/houseOfBushHouseOfSaud.html

Lets think this way what did we get out of the war? Instead of why we went for the war?
1. Sadaam shoud be Hanged as he is guilty of killing 120 People.
2. American Soldiers Killed 600 Thousand People in Iraq and none will be tried for it.
3. It may not be possible to rebuild Iraq in next 25 Years also.
4. hmm Oil prices lets keep Guessing?
If Iraq would have not been Invaded It would have not been possible for Sadaam to Kill as many people as American Soldiers have killed .
America being the most Developed and responsible nation what are potraying ourself to the word. Can we be Proud of what Bush as Done.

Well welcome to the real world. Bush got the US into this thing for oil and real estate. Right after the US invaded Afghanistan there was an agreement made with Turkey to ship oil via pipeline to that country for the US. The president of Afghanistan is a former CEO of a big oil company that Bush put in place of power there.
Iraq is all about oil and controlling it. Whoever controls Iraq and Afghanistan controls the world.

So what if it is for oil. Wars have been fought for much less. WWI started because of an assassination, WWII against Japan? Oil. The Japanese wanted it and we wouldn't give it to them. Civil War? Fought over a belief...slavery. So, tell me why oil is a bad reason for war.

Still red, white, and blue. We're helping Iraq protect its interests while it rebuilds during war.
Reasons for invasion: Take out Saddam and his WMDs, reduce the population of terrorists, fight Islamicists over there, strategically position ourselves next to Iran and Syria.
Do you know what megalomania means?

The key to your premise is: According to the latest Washington Post reports. Wait till you hear it from an honest, reliable source before jumping to conclusions.

This is another of many that is taken out of context. Unless you were there to hear the whole thing the article can't hold water.

If this is true, and I haven't seen these reports yet, then I was wrong to previously state we might never know the real reasons for occupying Iraq.
