I have an aol instant messenger account on my home computer. since coming to college, I've been trying to sign into that account (which I've had for a few years) on my laptop, but everytime I try, I am told the service is unavailable. can anyone explain this to me? I have all but given up. my password and screen name are correct, but I can never get through completely! i'm super frustrated, and would appreciate someone's help. thanks!

Try uninstalling and reinstalling AIM.

Try accessing AIM on http://www.meebo.com as an alternative.

Hi, the only suggestion that I have for you is to download the newest version of aim, because it may be a different version then the one that you have at school. Once you do this, there should be no reason as to why it won't work on your laptop. I really hope that this helps you and I am sorry that you are so frustrated. Good luck!

If you call the technical support people for your Internet thy will be able to help you. If when you setup your A I M you used a capital letter in your password then don't forget to capitalize that same letter / letters when you are signing in.Email the problem that you are having about this to
A I M tech support!

AIM was doing that to me today and to another guy at the office where I work. We fixed the problem by downloading the newest version of AIM.

just make sure that your username and password is correct . check it by logging in using www.meebo.com, just so you can make sure if it's your account or the aim is causing the problem.

if you were able to login using meebo , then its definitely the program. just re-install it.
