A very high percentage of the people in prison today, were once the little boys you are talking about. (I worked at a state Corrections - head office - dealt with the Division Directors).
You might want to go to: http://www.csom.org/ This is the federal government's Center for Sex Offender Management.
While inmates overall have a recycle rate of about 30%, sex offenders repeat at about 60%. A few years ago, CSOM did a study of sex offenders which concluded that on average, a unsupervised sex offender sexually abused somebody every 8 days. Sadly, they have learned to get a sexual release by abusing somebody.
Very few people who go this route are able to stop. What can - or should - be done with them? Release them back into a unsuspecting society? Lock them up for life - and then send low paid prison guards in to break up their fights - and by killing a guard the inmate becomes a prison hero? Or do we execute these people, and take the money that would have been spent putting them in prison and use it to provide mental health services to young kids who have been abused - so they avoid becoming the next generation of abusers?
Its not a easy question - and there are no easy answers. But to me, the best answer that is available today, is to have people on-line who pose as young kids and if somebody goes after them - then the authorities should step in and prosecute the predator.
Some states will have the offender serve prison time and when their sentence is up - have them declared mentally insane so they can be held longer. I can see the reason for this, but it really gives me a peek at Orwell's 1984 life.

I must agree with Gaspode here. It's not right to take pre-emptive steps and punish someone for something they might or might not do in the future. I have no sympathy for pedophiles, but when there is no crime there should be no punishment. If you want to break someone's rights and punish them for something they haven't done but you believe they might do in the future you must keep in mind that someone else could do the same to you and even lie something up to justify that. We'd have chaos in no time.
As much as I think it's sick to think sexually of children, there is nothing we can do about some people having such thoughts. Thinking like that is not illegal.
I do however believe that the police should know about such self confessed pedophiles so that they can react quickly if there is suspicion of a pedophilia crime that they could be involved in.
As for what we can do to protect children... we must teach them to be careful and if we think that someone in our environment is a possible pedophile we can always move, prevent our children from being alone with them etc. The sad thing is that most child abusers are close relatives or family acquaintances of the child and people rarely realize what's going on or even refuse to believe it, because they can't believe this person would ever do such a thing. I'm afraid there is no way to completely protect children from abuse, because the abusers can rarely be "recognized" in advance.

The bottom line is that in America, one can not be prosecuted for his thoughts or even what he says (unless confessing to a crime). A person must commit the act, and even then, is presumed innocent until found guilty.
Parents are responsible for teaching their children about dangerous situations and when to say "No!" and run. Sometimes, that is not enough. That's unfortunate, but that's the world we live in.

Preemptive punishment of an individual or a nation is never justified.
Might as well preemptively kill off the entire population because they might commit a crime.
You don't have to like people with perversions, but you can't punish them unless they break a law.

i ought to trust Gaspode right here. it particularly is no longer good to take pre-emptive steps and punish somebody for something they could or ought to no longer do interior the destiny. I have no sympathy for pedophiles, yet while there is not any crime there must be no punishment. in case you prefer to break somebody's rights and punish them for something they have not carried out yet you think they could do interior the destiny you ought to do no longer forget that somebody else ought to do the comparable to you or maybe lie something as much as justify that. we could have chaos good away. as much as i think of it particularly is sick to think of sexually of young ones, there is no longer something we are able to do approximately some people having such recommendations. thinking like that's no longer unlawful. I do although have confidence that the police ought to understand approximately such self confessed pedophiles so as that they could react quickly if there is suspicion of a pedophilia crime that they may be in contact in. As for what we are able to do to guard toddlers... we ought to coach them to be careful and if we expect of that somebody in our ecosystem is a conceivable pedophile we are able to consistently flow, forestall our young ones from being on my own with them and so on. the unhappy subject is that maximum baby abusers are close kinfolk individuals or kinfolk acquaintances of the baby and individuals infrequently comprehend what's happening or maybe refuse to have confidence it, with the aid of fact they could't have confidence this individual could ever try this type of subject. i'm afraid there is not any thank you to thoroughly guard toddlers from abuse, with the aid of fact the abusers can infrequently be "known" in enhance.

No - I would NEVER give that person the benefit of the doubt! I would turn that man in to the FBI since he is posting his pedophilia on a blog.
If this person is a pedophile, you can bet that if he doesn't physically molest children, he supports people who exploit them by buying "kiddie porn". It wouldn't take too many steps for him to start accessing them in chat rooms, and trying to get them to meet him.

We can DISARM them. Remove their weapons forever. Regressed pedophiles are the most dangerous, because they don't see the harm they cause. Example would be Michael Jackson. He has all but openly admitted to perpatrating children, yet he identifies with them and feels it is a mutual relationship ! You cannot effective provide "treatment". The recidivism rate is unbelievable.

Yes, pedophiles should be reported. He may not abuse a child right now but, give him time and a chance and he probably will. I would not want him in my neighborhood. If he is admitting he is a pediphile, why on earth doesn't he get help??????????????

do you believe it when they say they are paedophiles and not abuser.. ??
i don't !!!
maybe i'm biased. but paedophiles are just morally wrong and mentally disturbed.. you will never know when they decide to strike.
okie, if they are really not physically abusive, what will they do??
they turn to child pornograpy that features young children, and in turn encouraged online paedophiles activities that might still hurt other young children..
so they are directly or indirectly responsible for paedophiles abuse...
reporting them will help.. neighbours should help keep a lookout in the neighbourhood, educate your kids to be street smart and always keep a lookout so as to protect your kids..
