where can i find a corset? (examples of exactly what i want inside)?

i'm not looking for "sexy" types of corsets.
i want something practical.
it's only meant for me to see, lol.
(unless it's a corset-shirt, that you wear outside that people will see)

the reason i'm not buying from the wetseal webiste, is because they only have one size in stock. it's NOT my size.

If you are in NEW YORK.... STORES ARE FILLED WITH CORSET/CORSET INSPIRED THINGS.... but if not... Good old Vicky's should have some great stuff!.... i worked at Victoria's Secret for over a year.. and EVERY SHIPMENT HAD SOME TYPE OF CORSET STYLE TOP in at least 2 of the boxes.... CONCLUSION.... THEY ARE YOUR BEST BET!.... {'hot topic' should have some goth corsets.... it really depends on what you are looking for} Corsets are never out of style either.... its sexy and yet can be very chic as well... good luck....OH! and if all else fails.... you can go to the undergarment stores.. bridal shops have beautiful things!.... a fancy girdle/CORSET is JUST AS FASHIONABLE AS A "CORSET TOP"...GO IN PERSON THOUGH.... TRY IT ON AND MOVE AROUND IN IT AT THE STORE IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR..... SOMETHING AS HOT AS A CORSET HAS TO FIT JUSS RIGHT!!...... WORK IT GIRL!!!!

The problem is that those aren't corsets. They're tops with a corset-looking design on them.

For a good example of what real corsets are like, check out a few places that do custom corsets. The busk (the front closure) alone costs more than the shirts you used as examples.

To be perfectly honest, given that your question includes the answer you are looking for, I can't see how asking makes much sense? Unless of course, your question needs to be qualified:

"... I am trying to find a shop in my local area that sells corsets like they have on these websites... and so on..."

Personally, if I found what I wanted on the internet, i would buy it, rather than wandering in to a shop :-)

I wear a corset everyday to support my back and overly-large bust. What you are looking at is not a corset, it's a fashion top. If you are looking for something to support your back and hold in your waist (not necessarily tight lacing, I don't do that), then try these sites. True corsets are not cheap. My cheapest one was a ready-made bought on sale and it was still more than $200. I suggest if you want to try a true corset, buy a good quality ready-made one to start with, just to see what it feels like and if you like it. Also good if you are just going to wear it on special occasions (i.e. to a formal). Then, if you are going to continue wearing them on a regular basis, get a custom one that will fit your figure without problems.
