They do not lose freedoms. Because the Federal Government has exercised a constitutional right to wiretap international phone calls does not mean people have 1984 style Big Brother like lives.

Also, anyone who doesn't want to have to go through more airport security has obviously forgotten what a lack of security lead to on the morning of Sept 11, 2001

As a God fearing Christian I have lost some freedom of speech. I'm not allowed to voice an opinion that would oppose democrats. So 9 out of 10 I get shouted down and told to keep my views to myself. I'm screamed at for being intolerant but yet they won't listen to my reasons. hmm.

I think this question was first asked in Nazi Germany. If it doesn't affect you directly why should you give a rats butt? Is that a proper way to rephrase your question? let me give credit to one who answered one of my questions. coragryph....his answer to me a differen't question but along the same lines was this.............Many prefer security to freedom, becuase they don't ever attempt to utilize their freedoms, so they don't realize when they have lost them.

I'm from New Hampshire, the "Live Free or Die" state. And I try to remind people that we only have those freedoms that we can defend. And we only have those rights we choose to fight for.

In honor of Pastor Martin Niemöller:

First they came for the 6th Amendment, but I hadn't been accused of a crime, so I didn't object to denial of counsel.

Then they came for the 4th Amendment, but I wasn't talking to anyone overseas, so they wouldn't be monitoring me.

Then they came for the rest of the 4th Amendment, but I only called my mother, so there was nothing suspicious in my phone records.

Then they came for the 1st Amendment, but I never associated with criminals, so I didn't worry about being convicted purely based on what other people might do.

Then they came for the 14th Amendment, but I never really understood the rules for Due Process (and wasn't allowed an attorney), so I didn't object.

Then they came for the rest of the 1st Amendment, but I never told anyone about what the government was doing, so again I remained silent.

Then they came for the 5th Amendment, ...... and I no longer had the right to remain silent.

Realist you are mistaken. But that is something that you already knew. The new act does NOT affect U.S. citizens at all.
The freedom to still criticize the government has not been lost and these elections are proof of that.

None daily. However our country can change for the worse if we let this terrorism locally effect us too much.

Cameras everywhere bother me more than Eschilon.
Banning firearms so "terrorists cant get them" bothers me worse than profiling at a airport.

Nothing needs to be changed. Theres 300,000,000 of us and we will do just fine.

The freedom to pass though an airport metal detector without taking off my shoes and ruining my hose......

The right to pack a large bottle of bottle lotion.

The right not to have big brother listening to my phone calls and reading my mail...

I could go on but you won't understand.
