Yes! The voting machines can be fixed. There was a show on HBO I think last Tues. or Wed. called Hacking Democracy. It showed how a hacker could alter the vote totals in the memory cards that counted all the votes. It also showed another arrogant company (Dieboldt), proclaiming it couldn't be done after it was shown to be possible. There was also a voting machine showing 16,000 negative votes for Al Gore in the last election... and yes it was in Florida. Dieboldt actually left the program on an open ftp site. Go to HBO.com, there must be a link. Old news to some extent, but pretty scary nonetheless.
Okay- to the 2 thumbs down with blinders on. Do the research and tell me I didn't see the show. It's attitudes like that which divide us.

Here is the way the Democrats see it and the way they will play it with there lawyers tomorrow.
If Democrats win at least the house and maybe the senate then no the machines are not fixed and there is no voter fraud.
If Republicans win both houses of congress then yes the machines are fixed and there is voter fraud everywhere that democrats did not win.
So I guess it will be weeks of lawsuits before we know the final results of the elections.

If they are rigged - it would be the Democrats doing the rigging - trying to win votes - or else they wouldn't be so concerned about the hanging chads and recounting a close vote to prove they are really the winners. Face it - there are alot of Republicans in this country - that's life - deal with it.

Of course the machines and voting process are rigged. Bush and his fascist cronies screwed us twice already ! I will be on the frontlines of the revolution if this election proves to be a phony as well !

Excuse me? In my county they were all in good working order. If one didn't want to use the computer ballot there were plenty of paper ballots available.
By the way...if democrats win tomorrow, were the machines still rigged? Or is it only rigged if your opinion isn't the majority? ; )

Those machines are very easy to hack into and also the chairman of the company who designed them is a very strong Republican .He said in a speech that he will deliver the Republican vote. After saying that, he had to resign.
I personally have my doubts about those voting machines.
Not to mention that the majority of poll workers are all in their 70's and not too technology friendly.

There's no way to tell. Given that most don't have paper trails, it's effectively impossible to determine after the fact what actual votes were cast.
So, in any close race, it basically comes down to blind faith in the results. The religious right has won -- voting is now faith-based.

OMG, watching Libs whine is like watching a 8 year old girl complain about how unfair everything is unless they get their own way!

I have no doubt that many of them are fixed. However neither party has a corner on the market of being a little dishonest at times so all we can do is hope it balances out. There is no fool proof system. (and there is no easy way out of Iraq!)
