On one particular episode of spongebob where he rips his pants to be funny when he rips them he doesn't have a penis or a vagina I mean that's kind of defeating the purpose of having "square pants" I even notice in some episodes he has buttocks but than the next all it is, is a square sponge underneath. Same purpose goes with patrick he has nothing to hide neither and not in any single episode of spongebob did it say if he was a girl or a guy?

Spongebob is an asexual organism with male tendencies.
He reproduces by budding
This happens in the episode where Sandy, representing land creatures, competes against the sea creatures to prove ultimate supremacy. She forces them all to go up on dry land. In that episode, he reproduces by budding.
The episode you are referring to above is called "Ripped Pants", episode #104.
In episode # 117, he has his pants off almost the whole length of the episode.
Though Spongebob is a male, he does not need a penis because he can reproduce asexually in the absence of a mate (which there always seems to be)

Starfish reproduce by spawning, meaning that the eggs or sperm are released (from the ends of their arms) and join in the ocean. Therefore, Patrick does not need a penis either, though he is a male, because his gonads are at the ends of his hands. Which is creepy because other characters touch his hands all the time...

In reference to whether or not he has buttocks, it depends on whether it is relevant to the plot. In episode #117, he has none because his butt is not the focus of his nakedness. However, in the episode "Frankendoodle", he has buttocks because it was relevant to show them (more or less).

He's a boy. But if you wanna get scientific, he's asexual. Meaning, he can be both a boy, and a girl. x] Though, he REALLY likes, Squidward, and Patrick. ._. All the reason why he's banned in China, and the Ukraine. Along with a few other countries. XD

Starfishes and Sea Sponges don't have genders. But Patrick and Bob are male names. You decide.

Cartoon characters don't have privates. They don't want kids pay attentioning to privates and be all "hey mommy, what's the long thing hanging down right there!?"

I hope spongebob is a THING. But by his name being BOB, he's probably a male... a penisless male... thank god...if he made kids, I'd kill myself.

Spongebob is a boy...you know the whole BOB thing or the fact that his parents call him their SON...kinda gives it away.

You're digging too deep into a children's cartoon.
