Do u think Private schools are better then Public schools?

public schools are good for kids who are already motivated and don't need that extra push that private schools are famous for giving. it teaches kids to get their own butts into gear, and not to rely on being spoon-fed forever.

private schools are good to ensure that your kid gets into uni... but it all goes pear shaped after that. there's been a study in australia that shows that majority of uni drop outs in first and second year are private school kids who couldn't hack it.

go figure! :D

It completely depends on what you are looking for. Private schools allow you to pick so much more that takes place in your child's education where public has the rules/teaching styles set and you might not be able to pick or choose much.

Some schools specialize in discipline, some in religious settings, others are very academic, some allow live ins, others are for kids that need extra help while others will only take high achievers. Other private schools are based on teaching systems like Montessori or Military etc. If I had the funds, I would send my child to a private school of my choice in a heartbeat! We live in a semi-large city and it is too much about discipline and not enough about teaching!!! And they are too worried about the testing and don't care if a kid really learns anything...

I don't think that private schools are better then public schools because some public schools are better than private. It all depends on a district.

I expect that private schools should be better than public school because i pay twice!!! In public school i pay my taxes and thats where my money goes. Then i have to pay another in private school. So i am my payment is double (An private schools are expensive!!!). That is why, i expect private schools to be better than the public schools!

Private Schools are better most of the time. But can be just as bad as public It all depends on the school and the location of the school.
So really its kind of a toss up.

I am going to flip burgers at Mc Donalds if I have to to put my children into private schools. I did go to public schools, but I did poorly in school because no teacher helped me discover how I needed to learn. My children will have a better education that I, and if I am paying for it, they had better be getting a better education.

Both have their disadvantages and advantages.

Public School

Advantages:
-Cheaper school fees
-More subsidy from the government

Disadvantages:
- Very strict, follows the government rules
- Holidays are fixed.

Yeah. Although the private schools have higher school fees, there is less stress and more holidays and more fun.


I study in a public school though, my parents don't print money :/

It depends. I know alot of slackers who went parochial & I know alot of successful smart folks who went public. I think it's what the individual makes of it.
