Hey all,
I'm thinking I might be pregnant because my hubby and I had unprotected sex around my time of conception. My period is not due until tomorrow, however, so I have not taken a test yet. Although I have not changed my eating habits I have noticeed weight gain. I'm wondering if it could be from water retention and if I would be having this so soon after conception? My rings are very hard to get off and I feel like my face is fatter also. Would this be possible? Normally I would have had cramps today since my period is due tomorrow but I haven't.Maybe It'll be late but what would explain the weight/water gain? Did any of you have these experiences?

Yes, this all happens to me at the earlist of conception. It's not really a textbook set of symptoms for pregnancy, but it was my experience too.

Below is an article on this for your reading

I would definitely see a doctor. I had water retention before I knew I was pregnant and it was painful by the end of the pregnancy. If u r experiencing it now chances r u might be further along than u thought or u might look into having your hubby rub your hands and feet which make the swelling go down and watch what u drink. Alot of drinks have sugars that make u retain more liquid than if pre pregnant. It is important to also get tested for gestational diabetes. I cant stress that enough. It will help in the long run if u do. Trust me.

How many days has it been since conception? Is this your first child? If it's your first child, it'll take a good 2 months before you'll start gaining weight / start seeing "progress". All in all, assuming a normal diet, you'll potentially gain between 30-35 pounds of total weight to support the kid-to-be. Weather can also play a part in water-retention, so the swollen fingers could be attributed to it.

If you were underweight than 25 lbs is fine, if overweight it would be up to your oby if they feel you are ok, then you are ok. I was about 10 lbs overweight so I am only allowed to gain 25 my whole pregnancy and I have gained 17 lbs with 5 weeks to go. I gained 45 my second pregnancy but I also started off underweight

Yes you could be pregnant!! This could be something your body does when you get pregnant. Try using the first response pregnancy test that detects 5 days early. Well good luck!!

It could be water retention. But then again - you could be pregnant.

If your period doesn't come tomorrow, then go take a pregnancy test to be sure.

Good luck!
