I think that some do it because they really care about women's health. It is well paid, but the hours and malpractice insurance suck.
It is very clear when you start medical school though that you can't be disgusted by the human body. What makes this area gross versus any other part? It is my experience that everyone has their "thing" that they think is gross. Ob/gyns don't think that what they do is gross.

I dont know, but have ever noticed the majority of them are males!!!! I often wonder why a man wants to be one, is it because he is a pervert, attracted to them or generally interested in helping the woman out!!!

I wouldn't want to either. I think certain things would not be as enjoyable as they once were. I mean, I would like to separate business from pleasure, as much separation as possible.
