Water is a molecule, comprised of one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms. They are chemically bound by covalent bonds; this bond effectively changes the characteristics of the components, and creates water as you know it, which is not flammable.
The flammable versions of oxygen and hydrogen you refer to are diatomic gas molecules - O2 and H2. These are flammable, but very different from water, H2O.

Because there isn't enough oxygen present. Hydrogen by itself will not burn. It needs oxygen to facilitate the chemical reaction known as burning (rapid oxidation). At a 2 to 1 ratio of H to O2 in water (H2O) there isn't sufficient O2 to facilitate rapid oxidation. Also - Oxygen does not burn. It combines with other chemicals or elements to create the chemical reaction known as burning. Without O2 nothing "burns".

the Oxygen molecules present in water are bound by 2 Hydrogen molecules which are not inflammable and as the water is a very

bcoz you are considering an individual property of the elements 'O'and' H'.But when H2O molecule is formed an individual properties of these elements gets changed parmanently and new properties will aquire.
As u know the properties of chemical compound after the formation of a new molecule will chenage completely in chemical reaction.

Molecules have very different characteristics from the atoms that form them. O2 has very differnt properties from H2O.

H2O is very stable due due to a large dipole force. Stable molecules dont burn easily.

even if there is oxygen & hydrogen present ..they r bonded. so there r no free molecules eigther from hydrogen to burn or from oxygen to support. but if we free them by elecrrtolysis ..hydrogen burns & oxygen supports.
