if i rave it , it dosen't get louder ,belts ? they looked tight.
at first i thought a muffler clamp, then converter then followed the noise,up to engin. water pump & timing belt and gaskets have been changed. ran fast down the road w/air on too. no slugishness. or lose of power when puttin gas on it,

If its a clacking sound, its a valve lifter. This won't effect your power yet, but it will eventually get worse and in extreme cases prevent the valves from operating. Put some additive in your oil to help it out.

it could be the fuel you are using try using a high octain fuel in it. i had the same problem in my chevy trk & it fixed it.
