That is the biggest problem with laminate flooring. The cleaners don't clean, and the finish doesn't last. So, what have you got to lose with trying floor polish on them? Start where it won't show much, and see what happens.

Not sure what you are referring to.. laminate as in linoleum squares or laminate as in wood. At any rate, if a wood laminate, there is not much you can do to get the scratches out except to clean it well with Mr. Clean and you could get some of the dullness out by using a brush to clean rather than just a mop. If it is a wood, you would not want to put much water on it for cleaning anyway.
If linoleum laminate, use a brush cleaner with Mr. Clean or some such cleaner as that

vinegar and water. Dry immediately. I 've found most floors perform better with a protective coating on them like wax or acrylic. Then the scratches are just in the coating and not the product itself.

Try a little white vinegar in warm water or Murphys oil soap to wash them with available in floor cleaner section of grocery store.

you can buy laminated floor wipes in a tub they are easy and effective to use DIY HARDWARE STORES sell them.
