Yes. The clamp they put it in, most of the time, straightens it out. Depends on the type of machine being used.

Yup! If they know what they are doing! I had one snap off, and after much fussing around, managed to remove the piece from the lock, took both halves to local hardware store, and they were able to make a working replacement quite easily.
I say that they have to know what they are doing, because the first place I went was an engraving shop in the mall, where they cut keys, and they just looked confused - probably because they are not specifically trained in keys and locksmithing.

Yes -- any key duplicating machine has a clamping device that will straighten any bent key
