If you're so worried about lives, not oil, then think of what happens if we abandon Iraq. The oil fields, which Iraq depends upon, will be sabotaged and the proceeds will finance the terrorist front.

With our help, the Iraqis are rebuilding their security forces and infrastructure. How many lives will be lost in Iraq because we left them in the middle of a war? Do they matter?

How many lives will we lose here in the States because we didn't finish the war against fanatic Muslims over there? Iraq is our ally. The US works with other nations defending against common enemies.

Our troops are valuable lives. Defeating the enemy is their job. You are spinning to cover up Kerry's dumb statement.

Managing Iraq's Petroleum In April 2006, Iraq Revenue Watch hosted a workshop which brought together leading petroleum experts, activists, economists and policy makers from across Iraq's regions and political spectrum. Topics covered at the workshop included the need for clarifications and potential changes to the Constitution, discussion of a national strategy for exploration and development, designing a sound investment regime, and establishing unassailable legislation and efficient institutions. This report details the outcomes of the workshop. Geographical Distribution of Iraqi Oil Fields and Its Relation with the New Constitution Iraq's new Constitution has transferred managerial responsibility for new oil operations to the regions and provinces, and allowed them to take part in the production operations management of current fields. It has thus become necessary to accurately determine the geographical distribution of hydrocarbon wealth. This May 2006 report aims to illustrate the geographic distribution of Iraqi oil and gas fields according to provinces, and to show how this would reflect on these fields’ management following the new Constitution.

I agree with the past few, oil is important to us, but we are doing much greater things in Iraq than "stealing oil"...don't follow the liberal media and believe their one-sided lies. Find the truth out for yourself, and look further than your television. I've spoken with a general in command of troops in Iraq, and he speaks nothing but good of what is happening there...the media distorts and makes the president look bad. You all bash him and make him look stupid...the man is a good leader, and like myself, have a hard time trying to say what I really want to say, and in the end, the wrong thing comes out. The lives of US troops are not for oil, and are not in vain.

The lives of the US troops were lost doing what America has always done, helping other countries, and allow a country and it's people a chance to live a decent life.

The people who run down the country should really think about getting the hell out. Don't like it leave, take your show on the road.

well let's look at it logical, hope this doesn't hurt. we went in for reasons other than Oil, but it would be stupid to think that if we just leave it now that Iran won't come in and then control all the oil.. and we don't need Abidinjad(sp?) the crazy Hitler of our day controlling all the oil. After all, the insurgents are being funded by Iran. Wonder why they are so concerned about who controls Iraq? Because they want the power, what can bring this world's economy to its knees. a crazy like him having all of the oil.. sometimes i wonder why liberals cannot think logically?

To "Pearlofaguitar": Please, please explain what Iraq and the radical Muslim terrorists have in common???

Since I always believed that Viet Nam was about oil, I'm not at all surprised that Iraq is, too. In fact, I've been saying that all along....

It's not that the lives of the US troops mean nothing; it's that big money will use any means necessary to become bigger money.

edit: Just read one answerer said America has done just what it always does: helps another country. Oh My God, man!!! Don't you mean "helps itself TO another country"??????

edit#2: To Nonalcoholic2: And who made YOU an expert on all of this???

Pugs admit that liberals should stay out of over seas affairs(as usual). They should support our troops and stop bad mouthing them. They seem to forget they are American's that are liberating a nation. These liberals need their brains liberated.

Your question is a total lie. If he did make such a statement, that is still not stating that the Iraq war is ABOUT OIL.

Just because he said that ( Where did you read that by the way?) does not mean that is what we are soley there for. Is it hard to drive with that tunnel vision of yours? Remember, Bush is not the one that thinks that the lives of the troops are worthless...Kerry did a wonderful job of showing his true feelings about the troops, remember???
